The conclusion for them was made after a study.
Scientists have found that chemicals in grapes, chocolate, and green tea can block COVID-19. The study was published in the journal Frontiers in Plant Science.
What not to eat and drink if we have coronavirus
The researchers found that the weak point of the coronavirus was the “major protease” Mpro, an enzyme involved in the replication mechanism. Mpro is suppressed through interactions with various chemical compounds that are known to have potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
Experts from the University of North Carolina have studied medicinal and food plants to detect the presence of these compounds. Computer simulations and in vitro laboratory experiments show that substances in green tea and grapes have been very successful in suppressing Mpro function, and compounds in cocoa powder and dark chocolate have reduced the protease activity by about half.

The researchers also note that green tea contains five chemical compounds that interact with different parts of Mpro and neutralize its effects.
