“All requests from carriers will be allowed, there will only be eligibility criteria, that is, they will not be evaluated. The company must be licensed, but there will be no subjective factor if giving to some and not giving to others. Money will be distributed according to the turnover of companies quite objectively, since the 60/40 measure does not interfere with this support, “Minister Zhelyazkov explained. He specified that the maximum amount of aid that a company can receive is 450,000 BGN and the minimum of 3,000 BGN.
The assistance comes through the procedure “Support to small and medium-sized companies that operate bus services, to overcome the economic consequences of COVID-19 through the implementation of a support scheme from the Ministry of Transport, Information Technologies and Communications “.
Road hauliers suffered from the imposition of emergency measures during the pandemic. The carriers demanded an interest-free deferral of their budget obligations after the declaration of the state of emergency, grants and interest-free loans.
“The beneficiary is the Ministry of Transport. The objective is for the funds to reach all the companies quickly, which are around 1,500. I hope that no less than 1,000 will benefit in the next one or two months,” said the Minister of Transport , Rosen Zhelyazkov.
