The Brano gang, which has recently been harassing Sofia residents with robberies, crushed SDVR and GDNP cops, Blitz reported, citing their sources.
The special operation took place after 1.30 am tonight in the Ivan Vazov district of the capital.
After a chase and shooting, the police arrested four of the Brano gang. The dangerous repeat offenders were arrested while trying to escape after a robbery in a block of flats.
A policeman was injured in the pursuit and was safely hospitalized.
According to the police, all those arrested specialize in robbing private apartments, located mainly in apartment blocks, having previously investigated the identified victims.
The gang’s tartar, Branimir Stoyanov-Brano, led the Apaches from the prison cell. They took it “hot” earlier this year after BGN 400,000 was stolen from a medical company’s office in Pleven.
