The man, who stabbed a stray dog in the capital’s Nadezhda district, was detained for up to 72 hours, the prosecutor’s office announced.
He is charged with cruelty to an animal on November 20 around 8:30 a.m. in front of a 24-hour store, causing permanent damage.

During the investigation, raids and seizures were carried out from the home of the 40-year-old man, during which weapons and ammunition were found and seized, for which the accused did not have permission.
DD was also charged with possession of a firearm, two bolt-action rifles and ammunition, 27 rounds of ammunition. The crimes charged to the man are punishable by imprisonment.
A request to take a restraining measure “detention in custody” will be prepared and submitted today to the Sofia District Court.
