The functioning of the 44th parliament appears to depend entirely on the MRF. In the last three days, deputies from Ahmed Dogan’s party have achieved a quorum or failed in the sessions of the National Assembly.

Last Friday, parliament did not meet after lawmakers from the BSP and MRF failed to register and the ruling party failed to secure the required 121-vote quorum.

The day before, the session began with the second attempt, after the MRF deputies obtained the few remaining votes for a quorum, and the BSP, whose representatives will not register in the plenary hall, announced that the GERB and the movement they have ruled behind the scenes for years and made politics native. “Bazaar Drop.”

Today, the MRF deputies entered the plenary hall together with the deputies from GERB, United Patriots and Volia, and there was a quorum for the opening of the session from the first registration. Only the BSP deputies protesting the Boyko Borissov government and Chief Prosecutor Ivan Geshev were absent.

However, two hours later, the MRF failed in the attempt of the Speaker of the Parliament Tsveta Karayancheva of the GERB to present as extraordinary points the updates of the budget of the sickness insurance fund and the social insurance planned for tomorrow. The group demanded roll call, as the room seemed almost empty. Some deputies returned, but the MRF deputies did not participate in the quorum. Thus, 121 votes were not obtained to continue the meeting and it failed.

The issue of the protests was not raised even once in today’s plenary session.
