The tragedy took place in the village of Tri Kladentsi in Vratsa. The man, to whom Tatiana Petrova, 42, had been married for more than 30 years, waited for her to fall asleep, entered the family bedroom, doused her with gasoline and set her on fire. The woman was burned for at least a quarter of an hour until she managed to go out alone to the patio to try to extinguish herself at the tap. Her screams were heard by her son and two of her friends, who gave her first aid.

The woman was admitted to Pirogov in a coma, was placed in a special water chamber and under orders to breathe, her relatives said. Despite the efforts of the clinic’s doctors, the woman died this morning. The information was confirmed by the mayor of the village Svetlan Simeonov, who helps the children of the deceased to organize the funeral. The abusive husband is in custody.
