According to English-language Iranian television Press TV, the weapon used to kill Iranian nuclear scientist Mohsen Fahrizade was manufactured in Israel, Reuters reported.
“The weapon seized at the scene of the terrorist act has the designation and specifications of the Israeli military industry,” an unidentified television source said. Yesterday, the Iranian news agency Fars said that Fahrizade was killed with a remotely activated automatic weapon, BTA reported.
Fahrizade was buried today in a cemetery in northern Tehran. State television showed Fahrizade’s coffin draped in the Iranian flag at a mourning ceremony at the Defense Ministry, in which Defense Minister Amir Khatami promised Iran revenge for the murder. Only a few dozen high-ranking military personnel and the family of scientists attended due to coronavirus restrictions. Fahrizade’s remains were later taken to the Emamzade Saleh cemetery in the northern part of the capital.
