The results of the April 4 elections will not be cleared up quickly. The company “Information Services” warned about this today, after the district electoral commissions showed the extremely complicated protocols on Friday.

By law, election results must be clear 4 days after the vote or on April 8. However, this is impossible, according to Information Services, which wrote to the CEC today. The reason is the multiplied work.

“It will take between 5 and 6 days of processing, because we are talking about 11 million numbers, without taking into account the mistakes that will be made. Because, when they start to make mistakes, it can reach 15-20 million numbers, a monstrous number, “said Professor Mikhail Konstantinov, director of” Information Services “.

The district commissions are also concerned. They say protocol is difficult. In addition to entering the machine numbers and paper votes, it is necessary to count on it.

“In this epidemic situation, we will not be able to meet the deadlines. In the information technology era, we have computers and to drive people after 13 hours they were on commissions, in addition to adding numbers, it seems very unreasonable to me,” he said. Jivka Koteva, president of the REC at the 23rd MIR-Sofia.

The district commissions offered the CEC an easier way to deal with the crisis. Data must be entered for voting on paper and by machine, and it should be considered completely machine.

“The Electoral Code stipulates that votes must be recorded separately. This is the only requirement of the code. There is no requirement for them to be collected,” said Polina Vitanova, secretary of the 23rd DEC.

The CEC has officially announced that it will rule on the case with a decision. Unofficially, however, the district commissions explained that this did not make sense because the protocols had already been printed.

And another delay: due to the difficult calculation, the list of deputies will hardly be ready within the legal deadline of April 11.
