The 66th consecutive anti-government protest in the capital, entitled “We are not afraid”, passed calmly and without incident, reported Bulgarian National Radio.
After their traditional march from Independence Square on Tsar Osvoboditel Boulevard, the protesters blocked traffic at the key Orlov Most intersection for just over 2 hours.
Shortly after 8 pm, from the rostrum in front of the presidency, Atty. Nikolay Hadjigenov from the so-called “Poison Trio” commented on Prime Minister Borissov’s statement yesterday:
“He says that he is willing to negotiate with us. We have expressed our opinion that we are not negotiating with terrorists. Tomorrow / today / we will give a clear answer and no, we will not present ministers to him for anything else – we have people worthy of taking on any role, especially the stupid role of ministers in Borissov’s Council of Ministers, but the question for him is, ajeba, what will you understand from our explanations? It doesn’t give me peace since this afternoon. “
Hadjigenov added that at a briefing in Independence Square at 6 pm the date of the third part of the so-called “great popular uprising.”
Speeches by deputies and members of the government were projected on the facade of the National Assembly.
The protesters’ demands remain unchanged: the resignation of the government of Boyko Borissov and Attorney General Ivan Geshev, remote voting, early elections, convening of a Grand National Assembly to amend the Constitution.
