Hristina Vucheva was born on February 15, 1937 in Pazardzhik. He graduated in accounting from the Karl Marx Institute of Economics (now the University of National and World Economics, UNWE) in Sofia, after which he worked at the statistical center, the District People’s Council and the Battery Plant in Pazardzhik. Later he was a professor at the Scientific Institute of the Ministry of Finance.
In 1990-1991, Vucheva was an advisor to the Council of Ministers and, from 1992 to 1997, headed the Directorate for Economic and Social Policy. During this period he actively participated in the development of the concept of mass privatization. In 1994-1995 she was Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance in the provisional government of Reneta Indjova. From 1996 to 2009 he was professor of finance at the University of National and World Economy.
