A 29-year-old pregnant woman died yesterday in Dulovo hospital the day before giving birth to her third child. Silistra District Prosecutor Teodor Zhelev confirmed the tragedy.

Jevrie Yunuz was expecting a child. The gynecologist who supervises her, Dr. Lyubomir Minkov, said that the pregnant woman did not have any problems during the pregnancy. The 29-year-old woman, who is from the village of Vodno, has not had any problems during the previous two pregnancies. She has two girls, 5 and 2 years old.

According to the gynecologist, Jevrie’s due date was October 12, but since previous deliveries were by cesarean section and the third delivery had to be surgical. That is why Dzhevrie had to be admitted to Dulovo hospital yesterday and today for surgery.

However, on Monday around 4:20 am, the pregnant woman complained to her husband of being ill and blackened. The man called his father, who in turn called 112.

“Dulovo’s ambulance arrived in 5-10 minutes, but I thought it was 60. We were together late the night before. Dzhevrie even happily talked to my wife, who works in Turkey,” said Erdinch Mehmed, Dzhevrie’s father-in-law, quoted by “24 hours”.

The young woman was immediately admitted to the Dulovo hospital and Dr. Minkov quickly arrived from Silistra.

“He was in serious condition. He died clinically and we started resuscitation, but nothing helped. I do not have an explanation of what happened and what is the cause. The autopsy will be seen,” said the gynecologist.

The witnesses are being questioned about the pre-trial process initiated, assigned to an investigator by the Investigation Department of the Silistra District. A forensic examination of the deceased pregnant woman will be ordered.

The investigation continues. The proceedings prior to the trial of the jurisdiction of the District Prosecutor’s Office will be developed for a possible crime provided for in article 123, para. 1 of the Penal Code. The text makes criminally responsible who causes death due to ignorance or negligence in the performance of an occupation or other legally regulated activity that is a source of greater danger.
