Yesterday, little Mehmed Yurkin seemed to evaporate from the patio of his house. Family members fear kidnapping.

“Well, he was playing in front of the cart, and when Grandma got home and the boy was gone, in five minutes,” Grandpa explained.

Two hours later, the parents reported him to the police.

A search begins with tracking dogs and volunteers. Family members believe he was picked up by car.

Police are checking addresses in Yakoruda and Velingrad.

“We have redirected enough forces here, even today we had planned special operations against national crime, but all forces have been redirected,” said Doychin Doichinov, director of the Blagoevgrad Interior Ministry.

Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated to clarify the reasons for the minor’s disappearance, as well as whether it is not the consequence of a crime: the illegal deprivation of liberty of a minor, the prosecution said.

The investigation of the case began under urgent conditions with the questioning of a witness and is carried out under the supervision of the District Attorney – Razlog.

The last time the boy was seen was around 5 in the afternoon, near his home, along with his older sister, according to the prosecution.
