The story about the amendments to the EP draft resolution for Bulgaria, tabled by MEP Roberta Mezzola from Malta, received a comical and absurd continuation. Yesterday he asked the document to record suspicions that the accused businessman Vasil Bozhkov was financing the protests.
Today, however, from the Poison Trio – Prof. Velislav Minekov, lawyer. Nikolay Hadjigenov and Arman Babikyan announced that they would test it. This provoked a quick reaction on their part – Mezzola withdrew one of his proposals for changes in the document – namely, the one related to the financing of the protests.
In the last few hours, hundreds of Bulgarian citizens have subjected Mezzola to massive criticism of their profiles on social networks.
After the Maltese follower of Manfred Weber and Borisov thought, the Poison Trio presented a position on the case:
We are glad that in 1 hour EPP MEP Roberta Metsola made an easy choice between the courtroom where we would send her and her deputy to the top of GERB. He had prepared an amendment that included the allegation that a certain tycoon was paying for the protests in Bulgaria. Obviously, the EU judiciary is working better than the Bulgarian one, and the bleak outlook has led Ms Mezzola to rethink her words and withdraw her proposal. We have simple dreams related to the fight against corruption and real democracy. In the homeland of Ms. Mezzola, financial intelligence has discovered the guarantor of the murder of journalist Daphne Galicia. And we want freedom of expression and work tools to fight the mafia. The battle for us continues ✊ ????????

Later on Twitter, Mezzola wrote that he had never claimed that all protesters in Bulgaria had been paid and that he had withdrawn the amendment because the amendment in question opened up opportunities for misinterpretation.
