Kaplanov’s defenders, lawyers Ivaylo Alexiev and Emil Velinov, asked the prosecution to examine his teeth, as the Dupnitsa dentist, Dr. Evgeni Mihailov, appeared as a witness during a court hearing and told the court that Kaplata there was severe periodontitis.
In Dupnitsa, Dr. Vladimir Karastoyanov is conducting medical examinations, but has a conflict of interest, as Kaplanov was a key witness in the murder case of Nikolai Radev-Screwdriver, for which the doctor was accused.
“Prosecutor Aneta Stoeva will determine whether the experiment should be carried out by NICC / National Institute of Criminology and Criminology / or by a licensed Sofia dentist,” said one of Kaplanov’s lawyers, Ivaylo Alexiev.

If medical experience shows that Kaplanov really needs medical help to treat his teeth, they will ask the court for a milder measure for him.
Kaplata was detained under house arrest for illegal possession of 115 bullets. The reason for this was an assassination threat against the president of the “Inseparable Brothers” motorcycle club – Dupnitsa Dimitar Nedev.
Kaplanov is among those linked to the disappearance of 43-year-old Yanek Milanov.
The Dupnitsa Regional Hospital is working intensively on the case. People are interrogated and inaccessible areas are searched.
