Advance Media Group, a subsidiary of Advance Properties Investment Holding, owned by brothers Kiril and Georgi Domuschievi, is in talks with United Group, a leading provider of telecommunications and media services in Southeast Europe, for a possible sale of the largest media. multiplatform in Bulgaria – Nova Broadcasting Group, announced the owner of Vivacom.

United Group started its operations in 2000 as a small cable company in Serbia, but over the next 12 years it has grown significantly with the acquisition of other operators and telecommunications assets. The company, with more than 10,000 employees, also has assets in Slovenia, Bosnia and Montenegro.
Following the acquisition of Vivacom, there was talk of the United Group’s interest in acquiring Nova TV for the transformation of telecommunications and the development of digital television services.
Telenor is based on the same model, the owner of which, Czech billionaire Petar Kellner, wanted to buy Nova TV and had even agreed with its Swedish owner MTG Group, but the deal was banned by the Bulgarian Commission for the Protection of Competition due to the presence of a dominant. influence and possibility of abuse. The Kellner deal was annulled and concluded with Advance Media Group, and this time the CPC saw no obstacles to its completion. The Domuschiev officially took over television in April 2019 and announced: “We will invest in the accelerated modernization of television, human capital and the creation of more and more Bulgarian productions. Nova TV will be a Bulgarian television that will support the Bulgarian series. . movies and entertainment shows !!! “.
A year and a half later, however, the television will have a new owner.
Meanwhile, Kellner’s PPF mutual fund (PPF) acquired the owner of bTV and officially entered television.
The agreement between Advance Media Group and MTG Group was for 185 million euros.
Nova Broadcasting Group’s portfolio includes several television channels. In October 2020, the channel “TV 3” connected with the MRF MP Delyan Peevski joined the media group. Last week it was announced that from the beginning of 2021 it will become a “Novelty”.
Nova Broadcasting Group is the largest participant in the online market in the country, reaching approximately 75% of the people using the Internet in Bulgaria. It employs 650 people.
