The repair of two sections of the Northern Arch of the Sofia ring road, with a total length of 3.8 km, will begin tomorrow, October 13, announced the Road Infrastructure Agency (RIA).
Tomorrow the temporary organization of traffic will be introduced and construction activities will begin on Wednesday. The first section is after the junction of the road with the Northern Speed Tangent and is next to the junction of the village of Mirovyane and the district of Trebich. The second section, which will be repaired, is located after the junction with the second class road II-16 Novi Iskar – Svoge – Mezdra and ends before the junction with the Hadji Dimitar street in Novi Iskar.
Construction activities include a complete replacement of the road surface, repair of facilities, improvement of drainage, replacement of road marking, and placement of new horizontal marking. They are expected to end before the start of the winter season.
To carry out the repair works, traffic is stopped on both sections. Svoge traffic will go through Rozhen Blvd. in Sofia, through Trebich and Novi Iskar. A bypass route through Chepinsko Shosse Street is planned for heavy vehicles.
