Today we send a great man. Very rich, with power. He was our king. Thus, the Roma, gathered in the central cemetery of Plovdiv, expressed their respect for Kiril Rashkov. When asked “Who will replace him”, they were unanimous: his son Angel.
Despite the pouring rain. more than 100 people attended the cult of Tsar Kiro. The parking lot was cramped with gleaming limousines.
A memorial service for Rashkov was held in the Church of the Holy Archangels in the Central Cemetery. Later, his remains were deposited in the grave of his father, George, who was named Tsar Gogo. Next to it is the mausoleum of Ivan, son of Kiril Rashkov.
Before the ceremony, a music procession left the Tsar Kiro hotel at the Monday market on Maria-Louisa Blvd. Relatives were walking down the road with a cross, wreaths and musicians playing a sad folk song, and behind they had a great column of cars. After the police intervention, people got on the sidewalk and cleared the traffic.
Tsar Kiro died at the age of 78 at his home in Plovdiv due to heart failure. According to people around him, he planned an operation in Turkey, but death preceded him.
