The new measures against the coronavirus go into effect in Bulgaria at midnight. For two weeks, face-to-face classes in high school classes and in universities are terminated. Extracurricular activities are also stopped, as well as entertainment, language schools and educational centers.

“These measures did not surprise us. We are ready to move to an e-learning environment starting September 15th. I think that as soon as the measures are taken by a competent body, they are probably the correct ones, “said the director of the 125 school in Sofia Venelina Nikolova.

The organization in schools with students from first to 12th grade will be more complicated, where half of the children will continue walking and the secondary students will learn from home.

“In our country, seventh grade students study together with high school students in one shift and are taught by the same teachers. The organization will be more difficult and teachers will have to teach face-to-face and online classes,” added Nikolova.

The new measures are expected to take effect in at least two weeks. If this does not happen, the next step could be to close schools entirely.

REGISTRATION AGAIN: 2569 new cases of COVID-19 in our country

A limit of 30 people is introduced in the country for seminars, exhibitions and other events.
In theaters, cinemas and concerts, the audience drops to 30%.

Both indoor and outdoor sporting events will be held without an audience. An exception is allowed for the Sofia International Tennis Tournament, where spectators will be seated in two seats.

Bars, discos and nightclubs will also be closed for two weeks. In restaurants there can be a maximum of 6 people at a table, and the distance between the chairs of the individual tables should be one and a half meters.

The mayor of Sofia did not rule out the possibility of a complete closure of schools.

“If the upward trend continues, it will probably be necessary to temporarily switch to distance learning with other students,” said Yordanka Fandakova.

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov also called for strict compliance with the measures. The cabinet is also ready for the introduction of additional rules.

Prof. Angelov: Severe winter months await us

As soon as the measures were announced, the Minister of Health explained why the new restrictions were imposed. In a Facebook state, he warned that the virus is now spreading diffusely rather than outbreaks. Dr. Angelov adds that we are facing severe winter months and the risk that the healthcare system will not survive is real.

Before NOVA, the Minister of Health was inflexible: the measures arrive on time.

“I do not think we have slowed down. I would like to emphasize that no politician has tried to influence me to decide the measures. The only people who influenced me were the professionals. If we all start to observe these measures, then we have a great chance of facing them”, Professor Kostadin Angelov said.

Otherwise, the risk of the system collapsing is real, Professor Angelov warned.

There was also a reaction from the doctors on the front line. Professor Asen Baltov, who runs Bulgaria’s largest emergency hospital, Pirogov, described the new regime as lenient.

Meanwhile, doctors from Pirogov, the Military Medical Academy, the District Hospital and the Alexandrovska Hospital came out in front of the medical establishments at exactly 8pm last night. With lights in hand, they urged people to listen and follow the measurements. Months after the crisis began, doctors were working despite fatigue. Its appeal is to follow the three basic rules: distance, discipline and disinfection.

NEW MEASURES: High School Students and Students Go to Online Training (ORDER)

Last night, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said in a Facebook post that everything in the country cannot and should not be stopped, but that the spread of the infection could be responsibly weakened.

“It is up to us to take the easy path. Once we show that together we can do it, do it again,” Borissov urged.

New peak of infected, almost 70,000 are expected with COVID-19 in November (SUMMARY)
