Under the leadership of the Blagoevgrad District Prosecutor’s Office, active steps are being taken to investigate a serious crime – the murder of two minors.
The preliminary proceedings began after yesterday, November 19, 2020, at around 5:30 p.m., a signal was received for the discovery of children’s bodies in an apartment of a house on Skopje street in the town of Sandanski. Police officers immediately arrived at the scene and identified KD, the mother of the three-year-old girl and the five-year-old boy.
In urgent conditions, a site inspection has been initiated. Material evidence, including two knives and a helicopter, were seized.
Currently, testimony has been taken, numerous witnesses have been questioned and experts have been appointed.
By order of the supervising prosecutor, KD has been charged with a serious crime committed by her in a particularly torturous manner and with particular cruelty towards the victims, who are her minor children. The act is qualified in art. 116, para. 1, elements 3, elements 3 and 4, elements 4, elements 2 and 3 and elements 6, elements 2 and 3, supra Art. 115 of the Penal Code.
The woman was detained for up to 72 hours.
Given the seriousness of the accusation for which she was prosecuted and the nature of the criminal act, the Blagoevgrad District Prosecutor’s Office will submit to the court a request for coercion “preventive detention” against the accused.
