At the suggestion of the Home Office, car owners who want to keep the car number when they sell it will now be able to do so for a fee of BGN 500. Now the plates must be removed or remain for the new owner of the vehicle, reports “Capital”.
The change for the rates, which are collected in the Interior Ministry system, has been published for public discussion, which will last until December 2. The new opportunity will not really benefit most drivers, as it costs only BGN 50 to issue a registration number and few would pay BGN 500 for their old license plates. The change is likely to affect those who have the so-called VIP Registration of the same numbers or letters and you want to keep it.
Under the same tariff, drivers pay BGN 1,000 for a number of identical digits, as well as BGN 7,000 for six identical digits or identical alphanumeric characters. In these cases, the new BGN 500 fee for keeping the numbers is more than profitable.
