We have 875 cured today. In recent weeks, thousands of people have been cured. The pressure on the health system is extremely serious. This was stated to NOVA by the Minister of Health, Prof. Kostadin Angelov.
Yesterday there were more than 550 emergency calls in Sofia. The number of ambulances yesterday was 40, which attended the addresses and are going to increase. Anyone with the slightest symptoms seeks help and hopes to be taken to a hospital. Doctors follow strict algorithms, objective medical facts to get a patient to hospital, Angelov stressed.
Yesterday there were 200 addresses for COVID-19, only about 35 people entered the hospital, the others stayed at home. 80% of COVID-19 patients stay home for treatment, the rest need hospital treatment, Angelov explained. According to him, currently the pressure on the health system is enormous.
Access to healthcare means getting to the doctor on time. In Bulgaria, patients have good access to care. The problem is the lack of doctors and nurses, which is now not a problem, said the minister.
Chronic disease patients in need of treatment: his intake does not stop, Angelov is uncompromising. “We will protect the interests of patients. We must provide them with safe conditions for treatment,” added the minister.
The measures we are discussing are aimed at achieving medical results. All schools with morbidity greater than 20% will receive online training, Angelov emphasized.
The provision of green corridors across the country is being discussed, as is currently the case in Sofia. Two are expected, one before noon and one in the afternoon.
The discos will be closed for some time, probably for another two weeks. Most likely, the evening time for restaurants will unify for the entire country at 11.30pm, Angelov added.
