This order, which restricts the export of certain drugs, is issued on the basis of art. 217e, of the Law of Medicines in Human Medicine and in relation to a letter received with ent. 01-12-98 / 12.15.2020 by the Executive Agency for Medicines in light of the complicated epidemic situation related to the spread of COVID-19 in the country. According to the letter from the Executive Director of the BDA, currently the compulsory use drugs, which are used by specialist doctors in hospital and outpatient care in the treatment of patients with coronavirus infection, are from different anatomical-therapeutic groups:

– With the international non-patent name Azithromycin;

– With the international common name Enoxaparin;

– With the non-patented international name Nadroparin;

– With the international non-proprietary name Dexamethasone;

– Medical gas oxygen.

The analysis of the data that BDA receives from the National Verification System for these drugs shows a significant increase in its consumption compared to previous months, since the average for DCI Azithromycin is an increase of 5000%, for DCI Dexamethasone it is 2300%, for INN Nadroparin and Enoxaparin: almost 500%.

Professor Angelov to the People: Vaccination is the way to salvation and hugs

The results of the inspections carried out by the BDA on medicine shortage signals, carried out in November so far, show that medicines with the international non-patent names mentioned above are subject to parallel export from the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria to other countries. quantities that create preconditions for a possible shortage of medicines for the Bulgarian market. It is claimed that regardless of the legal nature of the activity, the export of drugs used in the treatment of Bulgarian patients with COVID-19 in a period of increased consumption violates the fragile balance between drugs delivered to the country and increased needs. to meet the health needs of the population.
