He clarified that the agreements provide that the participating countries donate and resell quantities of vaccines to other countries and public institutions with the consent of the contractor.

If a resale is made to any third country, the participating country reselling the dose has an obligation to reimburse the commission for the advance on the dose, Angelov added.

Currently, Bulgaria has entered into contracts with the companies AstraZeneca and Sanofi for a vaccine against COVID-19.

The members of the commission adopted a draft decision approving the participation of the Republic of Bulgaria in the preliminary agreements concluded by the European Commission and the drug manufacturers “AstraZeneca”, “Sanofi” and “Pfizer Inc” and “BioNTech Manufacturing” GmbH and for the purchase of vaccines in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as taking steps to enter into a vaccine purchase contract from Janssen Pharmaceutica NV in principle.
