After today’s consultations with experts, a consensus was reached not to introduce new measures against the spread of the coronavirus in our country. This was stated by the “Face to Face” program of the Minister of Health, Prof. Kostadin Angelov.
“Even if we close now, there will be no effect.” The disease is already spreading diffusely and we can only control its spread, “he said.
According to him, our main problem is discipline, understanding the danger and compliance with existing measures.
“It is not about giving orders. It is very important for people to understand that everything that happens is clothed with reason and has the sole objective of preserving the life and health of Bulgarians. It is important that the state is stable, that people are reassured that things are predictable. Measures taken wisely pay off, “Angelov said.
Incidence in Bulgaria is still in a pretty good place in the EU, and on the Balkan Peninsula we are in fourth place, he said.
“It just came to our attention then. All these measures are intended to control it. The only additional thing that we think is appropriate and that can be introduced is the provision of ‘green corridors’ for people in need,” said Prof. Angelov .
These are people over 65 and those with chronic diseases that can aggravate the disease. The order for these aisles will be issued in the next few days.
The Minister of Health assured that our country has medicines.
Regarding schools, Angelov recalled that there are clear criteria and they are disseminated in all schools.
“The local approach is very important. There are schools where there is not a single sick child or teacher. Then we will act unfairly if we close all schools, something we do not intend to do,” said the Health Minister.
“In-person training is something we strive for. The relationship between teacher and student must not be broken,” he added.
From January 1 to December 31 next year, all Bulgarian doctors, nurses and paramedics will receive BGN 600, 360 and 120, respectively, in addition to their salary each month.
“We are indebted to these people because, despite poor pay in some places, they have not given up,” said the Health Minister.
Regarding the future vaccine against COVID-19, Prof. Angelov explained that anyone who is considered at risk will have access to it. It will be optional and free and will not be included in the vaccination schedule.
