In anticipation of vaccines against the virus, the deployment of specialized freezers in which preparations must be stored continues. The compilation of lists of people who will receive them first also begins.
The first doses of COVID-19 vaccines will arrive in Bulgaria after the New Year. This was confirmed for NOVA by the Ministry of Health. The European Medicines Agency is expected to decide on December 29 whether to approve the Pfizer and BioNtech vaccine. Days later, the final decision of the European Commission. In Bulgaria, preparations are already underway for the implementation of the National Vaccination Plan against Coronavirus and the preparation of lists of the first people to be immunized.

Frontline people lists should be ready in days. They will include all doctors who want to get vaccinated. This was agreed in a meeting between the Minister of Health and the directors of the six regional inspectorates responsible for vaccination.
“We have clarified how we will act in the future. Their task is to prepare the lists of first-line doctors ready for Thursday. Then to clarify the logistics of the need for mobile teams and their number,” said the Minister of Health.

At the beginning of next year, all special freezers for storing vaccines will be delivered to Bulgaria. The minister assured that the places where they will be located will be adapted for it.
“Towards the end of the year the contracts for the supply of the refrigerators will be concluded. They will arrive in early 2021. The most important thing is that the necessary equipment is available to attend the first delivery, ”said the Minister.
There will also be smaller refrigerators to store vaccines in mobile equipment.
Among the first to be included on the vaccination list is Dr. Boyko Terziiski from Blagoevgrad. However, as he is an OB-GYN, he does not know if he has the right to do so.
“If they invite me, they will be among the first. I am not the first to be offered. There are those in need, those who come face to face with sick patients. In the first place, they should be,” thinks the doctor.

At the briefing, Minister Angelov also noted that he had ordered inspections after queues formed at large chain stores. He explained that sanctions have already been imposed: six from the RHI of Sofia.
Regarding the upcoming parliamentary elections in March 2021, Professor Angelov explained that a team has been working for more than two months to develop logistics around voting.
“The election will be held on the date specified by the president. We will work on the requirements for compliance with all measures against the epidemic,” said the line minister.
