The Minister of Health, at the proposal of the Chief State Health Inspector, may by order decree the mandatory isolation of people suffering from infectious and contagious diseases, as well as the mandatory quarantine of people in contact with them, on the basis of a assessment of the existing epidemic risk of spreading the relevant infectious disease. This was finally accepted by the deputies with the modifications to the Health Law.
Deputies supported the purchase of vaccines against COVID-19
A person who suffers from or is contagious from a contagious disease who refuses or interrupts the implementation of mandatory isolation will be penalized with a fine of BGN 5,000.
Again, with legal changes, the deputies gave the Minister of Health the opportunity to prohibit the export of medicines from the country for a specified period of time in the event of a state of emergency or epidemic.
