The minimum wage today is 650 BGN, 40 more than in 2020.
Budgeted salaries increase by 10 percent. For the whole of 2021, funds are foreseen to ensure a 30% increase as of August 1, 2020 in the salaries of the administrations, which are in charge of activities to control the pandemic and the consequences of Covid-19. There are also changes to the monthly child allowances. Families with incomes of up to BGN 410 per person will receive a monthly allowance of BGN 40 for raising one child and BGN 90 for two.
The monthly allowance for lower-income families with three children amounts to BGN 135, for four children BGN 145 and for each subsequent child, the family allowance increases by BGN 20. If the income of a family member is between 410 and 510 BGN, then the aid is equal to 80 per cent of the amount of the monthly allowances for the children of the lowest-income families.
The monthly allowance for raising twins is 75 leva.
The monthly allowance for raising a child with a permanent disability, depending on the type and degree of disability, or the degree of permanently reduced working capacity, ranges from BGN 930 to 350.
The one-time aid for students enrolled in the first and eighth grades is three hundred leva.
A 17 percent increase in teacher salaries and a 15 percent increase in salaries are projected at the Interior Ministry, BNR reported.
Pensioners with a pension of 300 lev and one cent up to and including 369 lev will receive a one-time annual financial support for food in the amount of 120 lev.
