Fatal incident in the Kremikovtzi area. Two workers died after falling from a height of eight meters at a construction site. The accident occurred shortly after 10 o’clock, as the two men were placed in a tower at the construction site. They fall from a height of 8 meters onto a concrete slab.

“They were in a tower and they worked on the construction of the building. They were not secured with belts and when the top of the tower fell, they fell directly on their heads, under the ground. The top has been tilted enough that both workers cannot stay, ” Kremikovtzi district mayor Lilia Donkova told Bulgaria ON AIR.

Two teams of ambulances arrived at the scene and took the workers to St. Anna Hospital in Sofia. Even in ambulances, however, men die.

His colleagues on the site say they have not seen what happened.

We do not know anything. They establish things. Yes, they are in serious condition, we assume, shared his colleague.

The site’s technical manager declined to comment.

The site is part of the Kremikovtzi industrial zone. Warehouses are being built there and the old hall had to be expanded and renovated. The construction company insists that all documents for the site, equipment and workers are in order. And the two men who died in the accident have been employees of the company for several years.

All safety working conditions are absolutely respected. Why they were without helmets, I cannot say. I haven’t seen them, I can’t say they were without a helmet. We were not allowed to go to the scene of the incident, said Mariana Todorova from the Human Resources Department.
