Today, with a decree from the supervising prosecutor of the District Attorney’s Office – Mezdra, the perpetrators of the beating of a specialist doctor in the city of Roman were detained for up to 72 hours.
Can the state stop violence against doctors?
The pre-trial diligence in the case began after a signal was received that around 4 in the afternoon on December 18, 2020, a medical assistant from the Sub-Directorate of Medical Emergencies in the town of Román was beaten.
The perpetrators have been identified – HV (at age 18) and KP (at age 36). The two were prosecuted for inflicting minor bodily injury on a medical specialist on the occasion and during the performance of his service.

The Mezdra District Prosecutor’s Office is about to present to the court a request to determine the restriction measure “detention in custody” against the accused.
