Among those who died of a coronavirus infection was Dr. Kiril Elenski from Plovdiv, who refused treatment at a hospital so as not to overload the system, reports Bg On Air.
“There has not been a single case in my entire life in these 20 years where I have not answered the phone,” said editor Manol Peykov, who has been a patient of Dr. Kiril Elenski for 20 years.
She describes him as a man dedicated to the profession, experienced, open and wise, who inspires calm and optimism, a member of the family.
Until the last day, Dr. Elenski took the phone of his patients. He refused to go to the hospital for coronavirus treatment.
On Thursday, he called Manol Peykov to ask him about the breathing apparatus he had bought from the editor’s father years ago.
“At the moment they want to take me to the hospital, but at the moment I just miss that”, I don’t know what was behind those words, if the fact that he wants to continue doing his job, continue to be useful, if that wants to take a bed, but I assume his wish is to be available to him and his patients, ”the editor explained.
A day later, it became clear that Dr. Elenski had died.
Over the years, Dr. Elenski has been one of the active members of the BMA and later Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors.
