The Interior Ministry has completed an investigation into the beating of journalist Dimitar Kenarov and found no problems. It all ended quietly in early December.

“The commission has definitively established that there is no data to confirm and give reasons for the concern expressed by the alleged attack by the Bulgarian police,” the SDVR said in response to questions sent by the newspaper Sega under the Access to Law Act. . public information.
The inspection only found that a police officer had committed an “administrative offense in connection with working with documents”, for which he would receive the “corresponding penalty”. However, it is not clear what the offense is. The sanction is also not announced.
The case of the journalist beaten by the police even reached the European Parliament. Indeed, the Interior Ministry was forced to admit that it was conducting an inspection only when MEPs sent questions to the Interior Minister about Dimitar Kenarov’s beating.
