The Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Macedonian Information Agency (MIA) has been removed from office due to vulgarity and hatred of Bulgaria.
This decision by the Macedonian authorities comes after the insulting publication and use of hate speech directed at the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria, Ekaterina Zaharieva, reports dir.bg.
Tensions between Sofia and Skopje have risen after Bulgaria halted the country’s EU accession talks as a result of the breach of the Treaty of Friendship, Good Neighbor and Cooperation.
MIA chief Zoran Ivanov, a journalist and close associate of former President and Prime Minister Branko Crvenkovski, wrote on social media about “all the frigid bitches”, naming former Greek Foreign Minister Dora Bacchiatani and Foreign Minister Foreign of Bulgaria, Ekaterina Zaharieva.

“What has been happening with hate speech in North Macedonia lately is a complete shame. Zaev knows for a long time where the country violated the Neighborhood Agreement, we have an intergovernmental commission,” he said this morning in Hello Bulgaria. The Foreign Minister stressed that hate speech in North Macedonia is the main reason why Bulgaria did not agree to start negotiations with our western neighbors to join the European Union.
