The first vaccines against COVID-19 have arrived. Shortly before 08:00, a truck escorted by several police cars arrived in front of the Center for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases in Sofia.

They were received personally by the Minister of Health, Kostadin Angelov, who confirmed that he would be the first Bulgarian to be vaccinated.

Initially, our country receives about 4,500 doses of Pfizer and BioNTech, and after the New Year another 52,000 will be delivered.

Vaccination begins on December 27 simultaneously in Sofia, Plovdiv and Burgas.

Health authorities report an increase in the number of people willing to get vaccinated.

“Our ambition is to reach 70% of vaccinated Bulgarians. Once we reach this number, we will remove our masks, we will start seeing each other, seeing our loved ones, going to the theater and the cinema,” Minister Angelov said. .

Informational materials for doctors and patients also arrived to obtain sufficient information.
