The veteran presenter of “Faith and society” in BNT Goran Blagoev has left the public media. He announced it on Facebook.
“Since yesterday I am no longer an employee of BNT. After 28 and a half years I said goodbye to the institution that built me as a professional. I made this choice with the full conviction that where reconciliation, lack of character and mediocrity began to reign, I can no longer have a place, “wrote Blagoev.
There has been tension between Blagoev and BNT CEO Emil Koshlukov since early summer, when reruns of Faith and Society were removed from summer television programming. Blagoev then hinted that the show itself would be taken off the air in the fall. “Faith and Society” has been around for 15 years, but the BOC leadership has had strained relations with Blagoev for a long time, and since 2014 clergymen have not participated in the show. In the summer, the synod issued a statement in favor of BNT director Emil Koshlukov. The case sparked protests in defense and against the broadcast, a reaction from a journalistic organization and a hearing from the CEO of BNT by the Electronic Media Council (CEM). Later, in September, “Faith and Society” was removed from the screen, and instead began another religious show with a new host. At the same time, Blagoev became the founder of the party of former Interior Minister and GERB Vice President Tsvetan Tsvetanov – “Republicans for Bulgaria”.
“The last three months have let me know how uncomfortable people felt after September 9, 1944. I thank Koshlukov and his lackeys for this revelation. CEO Koshlukov told Dnevnik that Blagoev had left with his consent and had nothing to comment on the allegations about the former host’s condition. Koshlukov said he was not familiar with it.
