The case against MP, 57, which caused the death of his former son-in-law, was heard yesterday, announced the Varna District Prosecutor’s Office.
On January 6, 2018, the victim visited his former father-in-law with a request to return the earrings he had given to his daughter or to recover their monetary value.
The defendant denied that he owed him anything and asked them to take their dispute to the police. He turned his back on him and was attacked with blows to the head.
He managed to pull out a knife, which he kept in his jeans pocket, and began to defend himself. The victim grabbed him hard by the waist and pulled him, and the accused stabbed him several times in the arms. After releasing himself from his grip, she stabbed him through the heart.
The victim left the defendant’s house and went to Dalgopol hospital. There he got out of his car, but managed to get alone to the front door, where he fell defenseless.
Doctors were unable to save his life, despite resuscitation at the scene.
The defendant learned of the incident from an acquaintance, reported the incident to his daughter by telephone and went to surrender to the police.
The court found MP guilty of committing a crime under art. 119 supra art. 115 of the Penal Code, for homicide committed in excess of the limits of the inevitable defense and imposed a prison sentence of two years and six months, to be served under the strict initial regime.
The Varna District Prosecutor’s Office will not protest against the sentence, as it considers it fair and lawful.
