Construction activities for the expansion of the South Arch of the Sofia Ring Road between the Mladost district and the Trakia Highway are ahead of schedule and the site will be completed ahead of schedule. Construction of the “Europa” highway section between Dragoman and Slivnitsa will be completed almost six months ahead of the contract, and in November the 17-kilometer section will be available for use, the president of the council of administration. At the end of next week, the repair of the first 12 km of “Trakia” on the Bourgas lane will be completed, after the “Belozem” road junction to the “Orizovo” road junction. Immediately after, repairs will begin on the Sofia lane on the same 12 km stretch, and traffic will proceed in both directions on the repaired route.
The RIA president recalled that the 52 km stretch of “Trakia” from 156 to 208 will be repaired and as of today the construction works of another 2 km will begin on the Bourgas lane, from 198 to 200 since it is the more committed. The goal is to complete repairs on these sections before winter.
The repair of the first 3.8 km of the North Arch in the Novi Iskar and Trebic area will be completed at the end of November. Next year, the renewal of another 17 km of the route will continue from the road junction with the Northern Speed Tangent to the road junction with Botevgradsko Shosse.
Terziiski noted that under the conditions of an epidemic emergency situation, RIA has paid more than BGN 860 million since the beginning of the year. He stressed that the agency assigns activities in compliance with the Public Procurement Law (PPA) and absolutely inappropriate. Terziiski pointed out that the president and the presidential administration have so far not made any request to RIA for contractual relations with the “Autopistas” company. “When someone made a request, we always responded,” added the RIA chief.
