Botev (Vratsa) has been approved to receive state aid under the 60/40 scheme, but has given up that right, bTV reported. Additionally, a reference to the NSSI website indicates that doctors even received the club’s money for 41 employees (BGN 33,956) but returned it.

Botev CEO Hristo Iliev justified the decision on the advice of Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov, who urged soccer clubs that requested the aid not to make the most of it.

Interestingly, the Vratsa club is the first approved by the state under the 60/40 scheme in question. There are other clubs that have requested it. For now it is known about Ludogorets, of which they expect 111,000 BGN. The champions have even come under fire after the club’s owners, brothers Cyril and Georgi Domuschiev, decided in advance that aid will not go to club employees, what is the idea of the program, and to help the socially disadvantaged in Ludogorie.

A few days ago, Minister Goranov announced that an elite club in the capital had also requested this help from the government, but did not announce his name. This reduced the opportunity for Levski, CSKA-Sofia, Tsarsko selo and Vitosha (Bistritsa), after Slavia announced that they would not seek state support.

Along with Botev (Vratsa), there are several other sports clubs and federations in the third list of state-approved companies and companies:
