A geography teacher at the First Secondary School “St. Sedmochislenitsi” in Targovishte lost her life to the coronavirus in just two days. Rumi Radoslavova, 58, felt unwell last Sunday, underwent a test, developed temporary pneumonia and died on Tuesday. This was announced for Dariknews by the school’s principal, Sevdalina Zafirova.
“This is a wonderful teacher, very human, very loved by the students, there are many Olympic rankings for her graduates.
Extremely kind, “said the principal, a late geography professor who was also a senior professor.
The eighth grade students, of whom Radoslavova was the class teacher, were very upset about the loss and asked their teachers to study at a distance.
Children are accused of infecting their teachers and they no longer want to make them sick. This is their main reason for refusing to return to class after only two days of quarantine.
The eighth grade students spread the message on the social network.
“Today the class is not in school. They have applied. They are a very emotional class, they got together a lot. Thursday was the funeral of his classmate Rumi Radoslavova. After that, his classmate turned out to be a contact of a positive father. He stress is enormous here. We have three teachers in a hospital, “said the director. Another 14 teachers are absent for various reasons, some are in quarantine.
The school has 1200 students. Many of them have symptoms, but their parents do not test them for coronavirus. The entire tenth grade has almost no sense of smell, but the children continue to go to school. RHI gives a prescription for quarantine only in case of a positive test, explained the director. No one can force parents to do this with their children. If the father is a doctor or works at RHI, he tests the child himself, but the other parents in most cases do not, Zafirova added.
Currently there are 8 positive students at the First Sofia University and the Second Sofia University “Nikola Marinov”. These are the two largest schools in Targovishte. By decision of the directorates, they examine the teachers themselves with the funds established in the delegated budgets. The wish of the local authorities in Targovishte was last Wednesday that the two largest schools in the city with coronavirus cases would be quarantined for two weeks until the infection subsides, a schedule was prepared, but late at night the decision was reversed for unclear reasons. .
Suspicions are that in both schools the infection started at the “Festive Fiesta” fair, located a few meters from the fence of the First University of Sofia “St. Sedmochislenitsi” from 9 to 15 September. The students attended the concerts in droves and had fun at the amusement park on the lawn. “I can’t say that’s the case,” he said. However, the children admitted that they were literally on top of each other during concerts.
