Closing gyms, shopping malls and bars will not cause a decrease in coronavirus infections. Emil Kolarov from the Restaurant Association and Ventsislav Nikolov from the Bulgarian Association of Retailers expressed this opinion to bgonair.
According to them, the next closure of the sectors would amount to a catastrophe.
Kolarov and Nikolov expressed concern that the anti-epidemic measures will not last two weeks, as announced by health authorities.
Business representatives fear that this time they will not receive compensation from the state. The reason – this time the shutdown takes place at the local level with orders from the regional health inspectorates, and not with an order from the Minister of Health, Kolarov and Nikolov said.
The Restaurant Association does not rule out the possibility of protests.
About 150,000 people work in the shopping centers. According to the association, about 30% have not returned to the industry, have lost their jobs, or will seek safer fulfillment elsewhere.
