The Control Commission recommends that the National Council expel the deputy Ivan Ivanov of Varna from the party.

The BSP Regional Council meeting in Plovdiv, called by Georgi Gergov, is irregular, and its decisions and the newly elected regional president Atanas Petkov are illegitimate. This is the conclusion of the All-Party Control Commission / OPKK / of the BSP, which considered the case due to several complaints of serious violations in its conduct. They give the following reasons: the attendance list is incomplete, there are forged signatures, the necessary quorum is lacking, the “Positano” 20 press center announced.

The list of those present at the Plovdiv Party Forum on November 11 included 75 party members, but two members of the Regional Council entitled to be present were not registered, the OPCK has established.

Minutes from the meeting show 39 members were present, four of them online, the commission found. The “online” participation was by phone call, according to the socialists present, whose testimony was confirmed by the OPCK inspection.

It was found that the organizers did not comply with the decision of the Executive Bureau of the BSP National Assembly to postpone the meetings of the BSP regional councils made up of more than 30 members, adopted on 10 November in relation to the epidemic measures.

The commission recommended calling a new meeting of the BSP Regional Council in Plovdiv after specifying its composition and number, in accordance with the party’s statute. The Commission proposes to carry out a comprehensive inspection of the organizational status of municipal and regional organizations in the district and city of Plovdiv.

The commission also examined the Varna case in which the BSP chairman was injured in Dolni Chiflik. OPKK strongly condemns the act of violence of the leftist MP Ivan D. Ivanov against Valentin Valchev, chairman of the BSP in Dolni Chiflik, and proposes to the BSP National Assembly that he be expelled from the party.

The chairman of the structure in Varna’s Dolni Chiflik municipality has been under pressure for more than a year by MP Ivan D. Ivanov and district chairman Tsonko Tsonev, according to witnesses and Valentin Valchev himself. He was beaten on October 20 in Varna, when he was brutally beaten by three men, personally brought in by Ivan Dimov Ivanov, who was present at the violence as a guarantor.

The BSP – Varna City Council presented a position, indicating other cases in which Ivan D. Ivanov made threats. The Varna city organization took away Ivanov’s confidence immediately after the attack on Valentin Valchev.

A pre-trial process has been initiated in the case, which due to the participation of a deputy was sent under the jurisdiction of Varna to the Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office.
