Transportation of the two women injured in the serious accident near Lesovo was postponed. The Spartan military plane landed at the Bezmer airport to transport them to the Pirogov Hospital in the capital, but their condition worsened before the flight and the doctors decided they should not fly.
They were hospitalized in the intensive care unit of MHAT-Yambol. The women were returned to the hospital to further stabilize their condition. Immediately afterwards they will be transported to Sofia.
Early this morning, a bus collided head-on with a parked truck on the Lesovo-Elhovo highway road. Three people died and 16 were injured in the accident. Eleven victims remain in the hospital for treatment. Among the dead was the bus driver, two other men were killed on the spot.

According to the prosecution, the main version is a dangerous stop. The truck driver fell asleep on the road and the other driver was apparently unable to see him. So he crashed head-on and died on the spot.
The truck driver is a Ukrainian citizen, he was detained for 24 hours, he will be accused of causing an accident by negligence, but the prosecution will ask for a more severe measure.
Before the police took him away, the truck driver denied his guilt.

“It’s probably about the driver resting on the road for no reason. And so it creates a hazard to traffic. What we know from initial testimony from some of the passengers is that at the last minute the driver of the minibus saw the truck stopped on the road, ”explained Yambol District Attorney Doychin Doychev.

Six hours after the accident, the bus was towed by Roadside Assistance and minutes later the road was open to traffic. The border crossing did not stop working, but merchandise traffic was limited. In fact, there was no truck convoy, as was the initial information from the Prosecutor’s Office.
The Minister of Health also arrived at the scene.
