The 500 households were selected for the first massive survey in Bulgaria for COVID-19. The test will be conducted in Plovdiv in accordance with the standards of the World Health Organization. Families are chosen at random using special software. The objective is to study different social groups, of different ages and from different districts of the city.

The massive poll in Plovdiv will be a representative sample of the situation across Bulgaria. The ELISA method will be applied.
“The tests will be preceded by a serious pre-analytical stage. Once we receive the blood samples, the test will begin. We hope this will happen before the end of May,” said Professor Mariana Murdzheva, rector of MU-Plovdiv.
The results of the survey are expected on June 15.
