Krassimira Kukovska
Krassimira Kukovska, 21, from the town of Begovo in Plovdiv, who was found dead in her home on September 11 this year, did not commit suicide. The gunshot wound to the chest was caused by her husband Lyubomir Petrov. This revelation was made by the criminalists, and today the Prosecutor’s Office filed charges against her. The 20-year-old has been prosecuted for causing wrongful death.
He told investigators that he had an argument with Krassimira on the fateful day. Conflicts have been common in the couple for some time.
The young woman began to persecute him because he was from the neighboring town of Sukhozem and they lived at his home. Lubomir threatened to blow it up. Kukovska grabbed the air rifle that was legally owned by her partner, rested it on her chest and teased him: “Come on, do it!”
Petrov swore that he unknowingly pulled the trigger.
He was detained for 72 hours.
In Begovo, where the two lived in the home of their late parents, they were shocked by the news of their arrest. The initial version was that Kukovska had ended his life on his own. During Petrov’s interrogations, however, the forensic scientists found discrepancies, prompting them to pay attention to him.
At this stage, the prosecution refuses to give details about what the dispute that led to the tragedy was about.
Krassimira is the mother of two girls, one 2 months old and the other 2 years old, who were not in the house at the time of the murder.
“At the moment they are not yet in the village. We do not know who takes care of them,” said Begovo Mayor Nikolay Gatev.
Locals say that Krassimira and Lubomir had no financial problems. She owned many lands inherited from her parents. Together with Lubomir they grew around 200 decares of roses, as well as wheat crops. They hired workers to harvest the products.
