Scientists at the government’s Coronavirus Commission have also recommended that offices be at least a meter away and that classrooms be cleaned several times a day, according to advice published yesterday.
French schools have been closed since March 14.
The commission also recommended that families should be able to initially choose whether their children would return to school immediately.
The class schedule should be designed so that children of different ages are not detected and, when possible, students should dine in classrooms rather than in a common room.
Education Minister Jean-Michel Blanker wrote on Twitter yesterday that the recommendations would be the basis for the development of a health protocol before May 11, when the national quarantine imposed on March 17 expires.
Prime Minister Edward Phillip will present the government’s strategic plan for quarantine in the National Assembly (lower house of parliament) on April 28, the prime minister’s office announced yesterday.
The Permian address at 3 pm Tuesday will be followed by a debate and vote on the plan.
On Monday, April 27, the government will consult with representatives of regional and local authorities to clarify whether the restrictions will be lifted at the same time in all departments, or if the time limits will vary depending on the specific situation on the ground.
