Stoyne Manolov’s financial operations (with the bottle in the middle) are closely monitored by SANS.

The specialized criminal court of appeals reversed the seizure of BGN 200,000, which Stoyne Manolov tried to withdraw from his company account, an inspection by “24 Chasa” showed. The businessman and owner of the football club Tsarsko Selo is one of many entrepreneurs whose financial operations are being monitored by SANS on suspicion of ties to Vasil Bozhkov, although he denies this.

Manolov as an individual and some of his companies have blocked bank transfers and cash withdrawals under the Anti-Money Laundering Act. He appealed to court and some of the arrests decreased. The last one is for 200,000 BGN, which has been blocked in Manolov’s personal account since the beginning of July this year. Then one of the managers of her companies, Svetla Bozhilova, with a power of attorney from Stoyne Manolov, declared in the “Commercial Bank D” the withdrawal of the large amount from her personal account. The bank informed SANS of the request, as required by law. Then the operation was stopped and the amount seized.

Already in the summer Stoyne Manolov appealed in court, but without success. In his next appeal, however, the seizure fell, but with a second instance decision. It follows that Manolov has granted several loans to the joint-stock company “SM and Partners”, in which he owns a majority stake. He proves it with documents and transfer orders. And the money ended up in his personal account with a transfer from the company for “loan repayment” purposes. The court also accepted that there was no evidence that the money was of unclear origin, and the prosecution had the opportunity to conduct a full inspection over several months during which the amount was under arrest. Furthermore, the company the money came from had nothing to do with the defendant gambling boss’s business.

Stoyne Manolov fought in court to drop two other arrests for a much smaller amount: BGN 25,000 each, some of which were in cash at the Tsarsko Selo compound.

In the past, Manolov was a partner of Manol Velev, for whose murder Vasil Bozhkov is accused. Both Manolov and Bozhkov have been playing in gaming halls for many years.
