Several banks in the country are already ready for this type of transfer after successfully passing the tests. “Our ambition is to cover 50% of the market in 2021. Immediate payments will be in BGN for amounts up to 100,000 BGN,” Ganeva added.
According to financier Emil Harsev, this type of transfer will not have negative consequences. “This is a normal technological development, which is even behind schedule. Modern data transmission technologies have been around for a long time and it is not a problem to have information about the payment in milliseconds. I do not expect any serious financial impact,” he said. Nova TV.
Immediate transfers to banks abroad and in euros will be possible when Bulgaria joins the euro zone.
According to the law, up to 2 years from the start of the service, all payment service providers must make immediate payments.
