7 people will be affected after the death of two coronavirus patients in Plovdiv “St. George” hospital due to lack of humanity, professionalism and attitude towards the patient. This was said by the director of the medical institution, Professor Karen Dzhambazov, after it became clear what the punishments will be after the fatal wait up the stairs.
In addition to the two men, a third man lost the battle for his life in the new COVID ward, said his daughter, who was also taken from one clinic to another.
A doctor, two paramedics, the driver of the ambulance who left the two patients in the cold, and an administrative manager were released. Two people have been fired for dismissal.
“Everything else we can accept, the main problem is humanity and the attitude towards patients, this is unforgivable, therefore the commission issued an order and 7 people will be affected,” said Professor Dzhambazov.
He explained that a hospital inspection had started on the day of the signals.
What happened in detail is the lack of professionalism in this case. “St. George” does not refuse admission and treatment in the most serious cases: we are one of the largest hospitals in Bulgaria, we open beds, explained Prof. Dzhambazov.
“Patients have been relocated so that others can receive medical care. The problem is who and how relocated them,” said the hospital director.
District Governor Dani Kanazireva described the tragedy at the hospital as unacceptable and said there were 20 health centers under pressure but beds.
The big problem is the lack of staff, he explained.
Almost 900 have been hospitalized, we are constantly opening beds in stages – 924 are currently 90 intensive care in them. All hospitals are involved: private, state and municipal, Kanazireva added.
