Forecasters have been warning since Saturday that snowfall is expected on December 7 and 8 in the country. The most abundant will be in Vidin, Montana, the Vratsa region, the central Fore-Balkans, and the mountainous regions of western and central Bulgaria.
Experts warn that the road surface will be very slippery, since initially the rain will be due to rain. Ice and ice can form on roads.
The risk is high over the Fore Balkans, Central Bulgaria and NE Bulgaria. Late in the evening on December 8, the rain over the capital will gradually turn it into wet snow.
It must be taken into account that the expected precipitation will be significantly higher, and the most intense will be above the places with orange color.
We emit orange color for prolonged and moderate amounts of precipitation, as our expectations are in many places that the amounts will fall to 20-30 l / m2, and in southern Bulgaria the precipitation will be accompanied by thunder.
On the night of December 8, the tests will cover central Bulgaria and southern Romania. Snow cover is also expected to accumulate over isobaric regions.
The highest probability is the highest fields with an altitude of more than 250-300 meters and the Balkans Fore. In the steepest part of the country, rainfall will be due to rain and will be most significant in southern and eastern Bulgaria.
Significant snowfall is expected in southern Romania and the extreme northeastern regions of the country, where rainfall may be accompanied by heavy snowfall with a combination of strong wind waves, snowfall will turn into blizzards.
