An official response came in northern Macedonia after scientists at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences published a book with evidence that our south-western neighbors speak the Bulgarian language at a rate. The position of the Kraste Misirkov Institute says that the Macedonian language is a reality, not a form of Bulgarian written from the regional southwest.
The text was distributed by the MIA agency. The position also states:
“What can be deduced from the first glance of this booklet is that the authors’ opinions have no scientific basis. Macedonian has functioned as a standard language for 75 years. Artificial languages, those that have no basis in life, They have been failed the time test.
A few days ago, scientists from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and university professors presented a book in which they gathered their research. The authors insist that the official language of the Republic of North Macedonia, at its core, remains a southwestern regional standard of the Bulgarian language, and not a separate language.
“The fact that we say that people there speak a variant of the Bulgarian language does not in any way mean that we say to them:” You are Bulgarians. “Ethnic self-awareness is something that everyone determines,” said project leader Prof. Vasil Nikolov.
