Skoda has patented the trade name Kliq at the Indian Ministry of Industry and Commerce.
The manufacturer’s assumptions of such intent are due to the fact that the names of all Skoda crossovers start with the letter “K” and end with “Q”. Therefore, Karoq, Kodiaq, and Kamiq will likely join Kliq soon.
Another argument for this is the name “click” itself, which also reveals the concept of the new model, namely digitization. The model is based on the MQB platform, but in its simplest and cheapest version A0. It is also based on the recently launched Volkswagen Nivus, which will be produced in Brazil.
Consequently, Skoda Kliq is being developed in India, but will be for sale on other continents (what they will be, has not yet been revealed). However, the crossover engines are clear. These are two TSI petrol: 1.0 liter 110 hp. and a 1.5 liter 150 bhp. The lowest is paired with a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission, while the most powerful only provides a 7-speed robotic transmission. The unit is advance only and sales should start next year.
